Partner Banks are critical to the success of SEFF. Their client relationships allow them to target this product exactly where it is needed the most.
To date 60 local Partner Banks work with SEFF in 15 countries. Every year SEFF is launched in new countries and with that, new Partner Banks join the facility.
Increasingly more banks are becoming aware of advantages of the EBRD SEFF and are keen to unlock these investment opportunities. Many banks are already adopting Sustainable Energy Finance as a standard lending product.
Given the prominence of energy efficiency amongst the business communities of the current and future SEFF operating countries and business leaders' recognition of the positive impact that energy efficient operations have on their companies' bottom line results, a loan product dedicated to energy efficiency investments often lends a competitive edge to the Partner Banks.
Projects identified within the framework of the SEFF credit line are rarely pure sustainable energy investment projects and on average every dollar lend under SEFF is matched by another dollar in additional lending direct from the Partner Bank.
